2016 River Cleanup Thank You
Foothill Conservancy would like to thank all of the volunteers who turned out for our 2016 Mokelumne River Cleanup on September 17. Volunteers removed hundreds of pounds of trash and recyclables from the river along Electra Road and at Big Bar and upcountry at the North Fork crossing at Highway 26. This year's "most unusual or weirdest trash" as voted by volunteers? A motion sensor wildlife camera.

Removing this trash makes a huge contribution towards keeping the Mokelumne’s water clean and its environment safe for the many people who visit the river for its recreational opportunities and its simple beauty. We'd also like to thank this year's cleanup sponsors for providing niceties and necessities for this year's cleanup: ACES Waste Services, Martell Safeway Starbucks, and Munnerlyn’s Ice Cream.

The Mokelumne River Cleanup was part of the Great Sierra River Cleanup, which is sponsored by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy.
