As you read this newsletter, you can tell at a glance that our website is, ahem, a “senior” resident of the Internet. While it has served us faithfully over the years, it’s time for a new website that incorporates the latest features, technology, security, design, and ease of use.
We’re happy to say that our new site is actually underway, thanks to the efforts of our staff and Web Redesign Ad Hoc Committee members Linda Smith, Mark Russell (creator of our site way back when), Jon Myatt, Will Mosgrove, and Katherine Evatt. After working on site requirements and issuing a request for proposals, we selected Nhu Design of Murphys to build our new site.
Designer Nhu Bergstrom and her talented team have created numerous sites for local businesses, organizations, and government agencies, including the Calaveras County Water District and Amador Water Agency. Since we prefer to support local businesses, we’re very happy to have found such a capable firm in our area.
There’s a lot of work involved to archive our old site materials, find just the right photos, and create copy for the new site, so don’t expect to see this happen overnight. But when it does, we know you’ll love the results. And we’ll be sure to let you know!
Meanwhile, if you would like to help out by contributing high-quality, high-resolution photos of Amador and Calaveras counties’ scenic landscapes and rivers, working landscapes, small towns, wildlife, or people involved in local outdoor activities to our new site, please contact Executive Director Sherry Pease at 209-223-3508 or by e-mail.
