The Power Fire burned in the North Fork Mokelumne and Bear River watersheds of Amador County in October 2004. While some of the fire burned at high intensity, a great deal of the fire burned at moderate or low intensity, clearing out underbrush and small trees while leaving larger trees intact. Foothill Conservancy is actively involved in ensuring that forest management after the fire restores rather than damages the forest ecosystems and watershed.
This year's cleanup included water quality testing for World Water Monitoring Day
in addition to our regular trash cleanup activities. These photos are from the upcountry
portion of the event.
