Highway cleanup project ends
For more than 13 years, Conservancy members and friends picked up litter along Highway 49 on both sides of the Mokelumne River.

In fact, we were Amador County's first participant in the state's Adopt-A-Highway program.

However, we recently made the difficult decision to withdraw from the program with regrets due to dwindling participation.

The time-consuming job of coordinating our project was handled first by Linda Raymond of Sutter Creek, then Leslie Martin of Jackson, and most recently Kim Still of Sutter Creek.

We extend our utmost appreciation to these three for their commitment and hard work, and of course to all the other volunteers who devoted countless hours helping keep our counties beautiful.
